It is the micro particles you have to worry about - like any other chemical or enviromental hazard - it is length of each exposure / frequecy of exposures / level of exposures.

once maybe ok - schnott is the body filtering

Also you have to protect you face and eyes with a out side sanblaster.

I went super cheap. I thpught = on sale the blast cabinent is close to what I spent.

sand was flying into my eyes - went with grinders goggles - full face sheild - particle mask.

Gloves - yes I did - next time just ues vise gripps to hold into pipe.

Some guy was going to use bucket with bilt in sceeve.

also sand blasted surface potentialy can be the best or stronger soldered / braised / silver solder joint

I buy new lenses from a glass shop here in downtown. They are about $10 bucks to have them made. I replace the lense before every build party.

I think this is a cool post, I'm jealous. I have been scheming Craigslist for a cabinet, there was once one up for $60 but I snoozed on it.

I use a shop vac with mine and it makes it so much clearer. I used to run the vac outside with the hose running thru a hole in the wall to keep the sound and light dust down. Also siliconed all the seams, and zip tied the latch on the drain door to keep from a accidental dump. I have a coupon or two for a 12ton press for $99. I

I learned this after having a BBlaster in my autoshop, find some clear pastic that will stick to the glass on the inside, when it gets chewed replace the plastic. THe worst I thing Ive ever seen done to my box at school was some knot head took the handle and place it toward the glas till it ate a hole right through the glass, damn I wanted to string him up.

I finally gave up on glass and used lexan of the plastic they sell at Home depot..

So what sandblast gun have you guys been using? I haven't been happy with any of the ones I've had. I would like to buy a better one that I can get new nozzles for in different sizes.

I was looking into buying a used blast cabinet with a bad gun, then buying this kit to update the gun and siphon tube:
