AMD65 barrel

Im looking for my next kit build
my question is
does the romy barrel will work in amd65 I know
the romy barrel is longer, will the barrel need to be turn down
for the gas block or I should just use a longer gas tube I know that the front trunnion
will fit also the rear sight block and the front sight but Im not sure about
the gas block thanks for the advise

Yeah that`s about the only problem using amd kit is that short piston and gas tube. A standard barrel will work. The easier of the two would be to get hold of a longer gas tube and piston set the gas block in the standard location.


Other option is like you said turn the barrel down so you can use the standard gas piston and gas tube. If you want it to look like a standard amd-65 look have the barrel turned. If you don't care about looks go with the longer piston and gas tube it will be easier.

Arms of America sells US-made AMD barrels. Also, there're still kits with original barrels on Gunbroker.

Buy the 14.75 in barrel from arms of america and pin your stock MB. Or do what Nick says and buy a complete original barrel from gunbroker and buy an extended muzzle device from ak-builder or amd65tech.com to make up the rest of the barrel difference.

I would first check to see if the barrel has the gas port drilled.
