    MagPul Sight help

    Greetings,

Not new to shooting - but new to AR and Magpul. Finished assembly and took new rifle to range. Setup target at 25 yds and set about sighting in. Once close, moved to 50 yds. Using Magpul on my new Adams Arms Evo upper and CMMG lower - nice combination.

Problem is that I had to dial down the front post almost 1/2 way to get it to work. Is this normal?

I haven't been able to try it at 100 yds yet - tried Monday by Circle S is down now on Monday's for maintenance.

Thanks guys (and gals should there be any out there)
    Tim

dont mean to sound dickish but header says magpul site, if you need "sight" help you might want to edit.

zero in at what ever range you have. work your way out. if you run out of adjustment room let us know.

I had to adjust the front sight post on my MBUS quite a bit when it first came out of the box. IMO normal

Ok, really? That's like saying the reason gang-bangers shoot pistols sideways is because that's how it came out of the box...

I get they have to be adjusted once installed, I just didn't think it should take turning the front sight more than half-way down..

...than again, perhaps this is a learning experience that these sights should be sighted in at 100 yards because the 25 yard trick you can do with standard sights by rotating the back to 8/3 doesn't work with Magpul...there isn't one there.

So if you are in close, the bullet is still "rising" to meet the sight line and the front sight would have to be adjusted abnormally low to zero it. That makes some sense. Thanks for the thought - it got me thinking...<g>
