Hey guys I am trying to build a rifle similar to the one in this picturehttp://www.imfdb.org/wiki/File:Soldier-rifle.JPGAnd I was going to use the win 1886 frame but acn't seem to find one,can anyone help me or can I make one from steel?

There are numerous winchester '86 rifles on gunbroker right now. I think some of them are going for as little as $800-$1000. If you're seriously considering this build you might want to butcher a new $400 marlin instead. Not to mention you'd probably be struck by a bolt of lightning and go straight to hell for cutting up a classic winchester lever gun.

That my friend I agree on I really was avoiding buying an win 86 and cutting it,truly.I'll take a look into the marlin(good idea).If you have any more ideas please post them.

What is it that you like? The look? Or is it a mag fed lever?

If you just want a mag fed lever you can buy them new...

I really like the look and I think it would be very functional.I did check out the marlin and found the 1894c in .357 would suit my needs.

The browning BLR is a magazine fed levergun and looks a lot like that except of course the magazine is shorter and uses real rifle ammo.

I took a look at the BLR and did't like the way the frame looked and this will likely turn out as a fun gun any way.Plus 9mm and .357 are cheap ammo compared to .308.

That's an 1892 he's holding.

Should be fairly easy... just position the mag high enough, and delte the carrier and interruptor assys. YOu might need to find a mag that is single feed on top... an uzi or sten mag is a double feed- the way teh 1892 bolt is shapeunderneat may not trio rounds out correctly, ar at all for that matter. Bet then again, with o carrier for the bolt to interct with, you could add metal to the bottom of the bolt face and get it to work.

Sten magazines feed from a central position. still an option.

I agree a dual feed position magazine is probably gonna cause problems.

Thanks alot guys I think that might work and will check out the 1892 and sten mags.Yet again thanks alot.Hey guys I could use some help I am currently making my own WASR 22 and have found its hard to find a 5.45 barrel.But the galil barrels are in plenty,what I need help with is I need to know if the AK 74 gas block,front sight, and rear sight block will fit the galil barrel? Please can any one help me?
