H&K SP89 Bullet Button Install Problems

Does anyone have experience with the PTR-91/G3/MP5 AssaultPlanet.com bullet button? I believe it is supposed to work on an SP89 pistol, but I can’t figure out how.

I’ve tried assembling it in the pistol and it won’t fit right. The cage moves too much. The cage groove seems to only be wide enough for a single snap ring. Also the aluminum block does not stay in place, no matter how much I tighten the set screw. AP makes an awesome AR15 BB.

Am I completely missing something here?

Call and ask them the same question. (760) 277-3621 Ext. 205. They stand behind their products and will refund your money if you're not happy with it or it's not working right. I have never used the AP bullet button's for my HKs before...but I have for my PS90, SCAR, and ACR and they were all top notch products.

I recently installed one on a friends 91. It is the worse design I could fathom.

Imo, it is wise to notch the mag release where the aluminum retainers set screw pushes against.

Also the actual cylindrical part that covers the button on mine broke where the clips snap onto. How you even got on of those clips on is beyond me, there was no room in mine. Also it took some force for it to go into the hole (inset jokes here).

So basically to get it to work, I had to tac weld the cylindrical part to the gun since the clip section on the inside of the gun broke, Snip the mag release spring in half, Grind a notch in the mag release for the set screw to fit in, And cut up an allan wrench to fit into the gun to access the set screw.
