Looking for Sonoma County S&W smith

    Hello,

I wanted to see if anyone had a recommendation for a Sonoma County (or nearby) gunsmith that is proficient with Smith and Wesson revolvers. I have an old model 10-5 that is a bit of a beater, but has family sentimental value. It has some cylinder binding issues and possibly cylinder endshake. I understand the concepts of how to fix these issues but don't have all of the tools and knowhow. I really can't put much more than $100 into this, but I want to get it done right.

Let me know if anyone has any recommendations.

    thanks!

Look on www.Brownells.com for parts or you may end up sending it to S&W. That is how I learned to work on guns. Kitchen table jobs.Go to the S&W "blue pages" forum http://smith-wessonforum.com and throw it out to everyone there
The people on S&W forum are experts in S&W and probably have forgotten more than I know.
    Luck

Yeah, I might attempt it myself, installing endshake bearings and squaring up the yoke face. It just requires tools I will only use once. I wish I could rent them or something.

Ken Genecco 209 931-3872. He's in North Stockton but worth the drive. Excellent work. Has a full machine shop and is great to deal with.

Dan is a good guy. Not sure if he is a 'S&W guy' but he does good work.
