80% lower question

Does anyone have experience doing this? I have access to a machine shop and I want to build one for my AR10. Can someone help me out or point me in the right direction?

To my knowledge we are the only one currently selling a .308 80%. The jig makes it easy. Just peck drill your holes. Then mill the fcg pocket. the top plates are numbered 1-3 and the end mill size and depth is engraved on the jig top plates. Never ride the top plates especially top plate one. Even if you do though it will function just fine.

I heard it was illegal to have someone do the machining for you. Is this true?

It's not illegal for someone to do the machining for you if they are a FFL holder. You must do the machining yourself in order to avoid that. But you can have someone skilled in the process "guide" you through the process.

It's very easy to do. I have done 4 all ready 2 billet and 2 forged. Buy the jig set and it's very easy. I have done mine on a harbor freight 3in1 mill and lathe drill press. If you have a cnc machine it will take you less than 30min. Doing it manually takes me about 2hr.

You must be involved in the machining.

If a FFL does it for you then it basically null and voids the purposes of an 80% as they would have to engrave their marks, log it in, and then transfer you the firearms. Also they would need to be a type 7 ffl, basically like going to my shop or JD, or S&W and buying a lower.
