Few AK questions

Been out of the game for a while, thought i could shake the Building disease, but nope, here I am, getting back in to it, even after getting rid of all the tools! thought that would cure it, nope, now im just gonna buy them again! Hah

Anyway. im looking at building a 74, i was looking at the headspaced 74 kits on akbuilder, are they any good?

Also, im probably just gonna toss together a grasshopper jig, think that jig would work with the bent top rail akbuilder ak74 flats?

The kits from ak-builder should be good to go.

You "may" have trouble using the new flats on a grasshopper style jig because the front alignment pin hole has been eliminated. But if you were just planing to do the measure and tap method of alignment you should be fine.

I don't know where you're located, but if you add a location there's a good chance somone close will let you use their tools for a sixpack.

Lol I just bought another 74 kit from what a country im gonna do a bulgarian ak74 underfolder.

I've seen a few of those barrels and none of them had been crowned. One guy said his gun was key holing at 50 yards. Another barrel bent with very little pressure. I would say buyer beware, find a commie barrel and use that.

I believe the kits ak-builder has right now are coming with bulgarian barrels.

I had no problemwith the AK Builder 74 I bought, not as nice of a kit as other i've bought but absolutely nothing really wrong with it. I alsohave one from What A country with a US barrel and haven't had any issues during test firing. Guess I didnt pay attention to key hole issues. Guess i'll have to report back on that. You can use my jigs if your in the central valley.

Wait how long ago did you buy your 74 kit from what a country? The one I bought says its a bulgarian chrome lined barrel. im gonna be ticked off if its a us barrel.

I bought a AK-74 kit from What A Country and it was so mismatched, it came with an AK-47 trigger guard and scope rail (unusable on a '74 because it is too long). Slow to ship. I'm not impressed with WAC, at all.
