M1 Garand stock extension?

I need to extend the stock of my Garand by around two inches for a proper fit. I know I can get a slip on recoil pad (and the like) to lenghten it somewhat but, before I start experimenting, has anyone seen anything else that may work?

Has someone cut the stock shorter and you are trying to get it back to original length?
Cant imagine needing it 2 inches longer than standard length

No, standard stock.... Gorilla arms. (makes it handy for scratching the top of my feets though...)

Found a recoil pad made just for a Garand by John Mason. Not two inches but better than what I have.
