    Ak74 triangle side folder help.

Ok so I wanna build a polish tantal and I wanna use a triangle side folder ranther than the conventional wire stock.
1st where can I find one with the trunion?
2 it doesnt matter if its a non folding stock or not as long as its a triangle stock.
If you have a link please post it. Thanks guys.

You will need a 5.45mm receiver with a back cut for that particular trunnion:
    1) If you go with the fixed plastic triangle stock you use a standard fixed stock rear trunnion with the standard receiver. The plastic fixed one is for sale at Gunmall USA/RPB Precision
    2) You can go with a real folder but you need the AK74S style receiver. The folding trunnion I've only seen on sale on GunBroker and they go for about $145, make sure you get the 4.5mm hinge pin as the 5.5mm stocks are nowwhere to be found. If you want the full polymer folding stock they are $90 at Henderson Defense or you can track down some steel triangle folders on GunBroker.

Its the newer 5.5 pin trunnion, but keep your eye out on gb there are triangle folding stocks for 5.5 pin on there from time to time. They are going for about $150-200 each now.

DSA Arms stock isn't live. I am pretty sure they are actually out of stock despite their website. And I haven't seen a 5.5mm folder for quite some time.

I found a site earlier, as I was looking for almost the same exact thing as you. Anyway, it is a weird site, and the guy bashes WASR or ANYTHING (even Arsenal!) not MAC 90. Dont know how it helps his cause, but if you wade through his rants its-

Good luck, the site seems very "off" and angry

Turbothis makes the trunnions. There are two versions of the stock the 5.5 and 4.5. The early russian and all the bulgy are 4.5. You will be wanting the 4.5 because it will line up correctly to the latch in the front. If you get the 5.5, the cant of the stock is different and the latch won't line up correctly when folded. You will have to do some cutting on your reciever to get the trunnion to work. It may or may not be worth it IMO. The stock alone with the trunnion runs about 200-250 so they aren't cheap... I personally would put that towards 74s kit.

Yeah the reason I am wanting a triangle over the wire stock is to retain cheekweld. My bulgarian 74 is great but my amd65 has no cheek weld. I may just use some type of fixed stock on the tantal.

I think that the wire sidefolders have a better cheek weld than the amd ones. They seem to sit up a little bit higher.

I'd say wait until you get the stock and check it out, then decide. It's definitely not like a fixed stock, but its way better than the AMD
