First time AK-parts kit purchaser needs help/clarification

I have been researching parts kits to try and get an idea of what I should try and get for a future build (which will be my first). I'd like to buy one now and have it so that when I do have the ability to do a build myself, it will be ready for me to do so. I am worried though that I am not going to buy the type of kit which is best to work from (especially for a first timer). I have seen some that come with barrels, some without, some which are partially assembled (such as from legionarms.com) and others which are not (such as from a-pex.com). There is seemingly so many potential options out there I am getting a bit intimidated. I'm hoping for some clarifications and perhaps a couple of recommendations.

I know that I ultimately want a couple of things out of this rifle...

1) an AK-47 parts kit
2) chambered in 7.62x39
3) a fixed wood stock and handguard (without foregrip) (which I will likely refinish myself)

My questions...
a) What parts of the kit need to be matching numbers and which would just be a bonus if they were?
b) Is there a specific country's parts kit should I try to get?
c) I want a solid wood stock, however kits with these are less common then say the underfolders and wire stocks (so it seems). Is there an easy way to use one of these kits and adapt it to take a wooden stock?
c) What parts are recommended/required to purchase other than that which comes with the standard AK kit in order to be 922r compliant.

Any clarification as well as perhaps some recommendations would be most appreciated. Thanks in advance, and sorry for the long, multiple part post.

A) Bolt, trunnion and barrel all being original to each other. Matching numbers on everything else is icing on the cake.

B) Start with a matching number original barrel Romy G kit on an NDS-3 receiver. This will be the easiest first time build.

C) The receiver you use will dictate what type of stock you can use. Of course you will need another rear trunnion if changing the stock type.

D) Tapco or some other US made fire control group (trigger, hammer and sear), US made pistol grip, US made front and rear furniture in addition to the US made receiver are easy picks to get to 922R compliance.

My advice would be the Romy G kit but if you go with a different route then I highly recommend you spend a little extra and buy a matching numbers original barrel kit. Do not start with an unmatched virgin barrel kit for a first build. Once you gain experience you can start with flats moving on to virgin barrel builds.

Good advice from MRA.

The only part I'll disagree on is the "necessity" of an NDS receiver. Don't get me wrong. They produce a top notch receiver, but It's really not much more work(more fun though) building from an ak-builder flat. It all depends on how much effort you feel like putting into it. Can't go wrong either way.

Well with a fully heat treated receiver Nodak Spud a first time builder is more likely to get nicer rivets done without excessive depression around them plus if the work is done at a build party there will be more time to blast, park and paint as the OP won't be in line for the flat jig, spot welder, heat treating station etc. Mind you I'm talking about the OP's first build not all builds. The NDS 3 will cost about $110 out the door if the OP has a good dealer they can use vs maybe $40 for the AK-Builder parts so there's definitely a time vs $$ trade off.
