      Ya, with lowers so cheap, the only reason to machine one from an 80% is if you're building a pistol, want a 100% paperless rifle, or I suppose if you're under 21.

      But seriously... 80% cost nearly as much as 100% now, then add in $200 for the jig and tooling, and if you don't have a drill press and a mill (and the ability to use them)....
      You're looking at significantly more money than just going to Riflegear and buying one.

        Cokebottle ... the other only reason is to test (and/or learn) one's skill with a mill!

        I'm still in the learning stage ... but, in case anyone's looking, another resource for 0% forgings is DS Arms. The sell 0% uppers as well.

          I use 6061 and occasionally 7075, but the Billet is $30-$45 so it can be costly if you get something wrong (Ask me how I know ). I just use the setup below on my small CNC and carve out the rest w/ a Manual. I like to do the Magwell on a Manual mill also.

          Here is a DPMS Style 308 lower I did and cut an AR10 Magwell to use my 20's
