Rem Derringer question for a Real Smith

I have an old Remington Mdl 85 O/U .41 short RF derringer.
The hinges have broken off and I'm missing the hinge screw.

Anyone know if it's possible to rebuild the hinges and make a screw for it?
Not sure, but the frame may have been cast.

If I recall correctly this was a relatively common problem with them.
I think the common fix was to silver solder on some new ears and make a new screw. I must admit I have not seen one repaired this way in many moons.
Today, TIG may be a more suitable repair.

Thanks, in researching other sites I found that the frame is made of cast iron and the hinge area was very fragile. Earlier models, like this one, had lighter/thinner hinges, whereas the hinges on later models became beefier and beefier.
The consensus seems to be that most attempts to do repairs like this fail, and those that seem to succeed leave the gun looking pretty bad and don't last.
Looks like it's an old gun in fair/poor condition that would be suitable for display or parts only.
Cracked hinge or one broken hinge examples are listed in the $500 range on gunbrokers, so I figure this one may be worth a few hundred for the parts. The original ammo is selling for $9.95 a cartridge....WTH??? Happen to have two of 'em!
