    Productive week building

First off pistol grips are not installed and mags are all blocked to 10 rds. Also the carpet is in the garage NOT in the house. lol

I went to one build party and was obviously bitten by the bug. Decided to buy all the tools to start buildong in my garage. Well here is what i've done this week by working a few hours each night after work. I will say I've learned alot from my mistakes. I am having problems with getting decent weld but they seem to be improving with each kit. I will take any advise in that area that I can get! 2nd issue is forming the heads on the long rivets for the rear trunion. They all ended up lopsided and not centering over the hole....can't figure out what i'm doing wrong in that area. Center support heads all mushroomed out nicely. I have not installed the barrels just because I amnot comfortable doing it myself for the first time and I really want someone more knowledgeable than me to help with headspacing. Anyhow it feels dang good to have these all out and able to get an idea of what they will look like when complete.

first screwup on head trunion rivet. Decided to remove it and screwed up the receiver, also didnt line up the rear trunnion correctly with the receiver....this will be my "beater" ak. lol

last to be built, weld better(still blah), got the wrong rivets shipped to me so gotta wait for two more for the front trunnion and one more for the rear trunion. Gonna hold off on heat treating thil then.

All three almost ready, feeling good about the progress. Got the rivets I still need and another Rommy G kit coming mid week to work on.

Feel free to beat me up with issues you guys see, I could use the input.

A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. What part of shall not be infringed is hard to understand!?!

        No you're not.
Just about everyone I have ever worked with says the same thing....."I only want to build one".

        Every one of them lied!

Welcome to the AK builders support group brother. Keep up the good work.

LOL, good thing when I got started I knew there wasn't going to be an end to it just a break as it were. I started buying kits when I was deployed back in 08 and joked that I was going to be out in the garage building AKs when I got home. Needless to say that always raised a few eyebrows

These days about the only time I take the AR out to the range is right before annual quals.
