    Reamers

I have noticed there are 3 basic types of flutes; straight, right hand and left hand. Would I get the same results from either of these? If not, what is the difference?

Example: AK barrel pin groove. Would I get the same result regardless of the flute type?

    Thanks

For something like that, it really doesnt matter. In deep hole reaming, a helical flute helps extract the chips.

One other consideration is a straight flute reamer may hexagon in thin material.
