Springfield Mil-Spec front sight

Want to replace stake on medium tenon front sight on Springfield 1911 Mil-Spec. Want a larger white dot than OEM. I can only find narrow and wide no medium tenon. what best have wide down to fit, or does someone make one I not finding?

You can buy the wide tenon and either machine the tenon to size or file it, if you are skilled with a file. I have done both, and it's much easier with a milling machine! Go slow and don't remove to much material or the sight will want to shift inside the slot. Of course, this is if you don't want to have the slide machined for a cross dovetail type of sight.
