Labels on Firearms/Barrels?

I have a few shotguns that are "earmarked" for use by a couple of different organizations. I wanted to label them "Property of ..." to help me and the users keep track of them.

I have one of those Office Depot-type label makers with extra strength adhesive that was thinking I could apply to the barrel. I see that sponsored shooters have their sponsors on the barrels.

Any good ideas of the best way to go? Any suggestions of what product to use? I want it to be semi-permanent.

I could put it on the stock somewhere, since the barrel can get smoking hot and melted the adhesive or the label, but I think it would look more professional if it were on the barrel.

Like a Dymo label-er? Doesn't sound like it would look very professional.

Are you doing this to just track the shotguns or are you trying to advertise too?

If advertising I'd have my logo cut out of vinyl sticker material and put it on the stock. I think it would look much more slick and professional.

Yes, like a Dymo printer.

The guns were purchased with grant funds (such as Friends of NRA and NSSF money, thank you again!) for use by our Boy Scout Council. They will be Dros'd to me, but I just want to mark them to be clear that they are property of the Council.

So it is not advertising, more for tracking. I want it to look decent. And I don't have any funding for this, so Dymo labels meet that criteria.

I could just try it out, and if they peel off or look bad, move it to the stock, unless anyone has some better thoughts.

Ah ic then yea in that case the dymo doesn't sound like a bad idea.

Dunno if the butt plate unscrews but you could put an additional one under there in case the other falls off or gets damaged or there's ever a dispute of who's it is theres a backup in an un-obvious place. That way you can just unscrew the plate and look under it without having to look up serial numbers and paperwork

I have a static pantograph and can engrave them for you. What do you want on them?
