Was at the IE build party this weekend (August 20th) working on a Khyber pass RPK build.
Apex Romanian RPK Kit (the kits sold before the recent batch)
AK Builder Yugo RPK flat (I prefer the dippled receiver)
Yugo RPK barrel from valleyrat
Russian triangle side folder
Big thumbs up to Roccobro who did the barrel work and helped with numerous suggestions on the build.
Here is the issue we ran into. The Bolt carrier was hitting the rear sight block. The area just after where the piston and the bolt carrier are riveted together. None of us had seen or even heard of the problem before.
Here is a picture with the fix Justin came up with. At first, the idea was to use the shim to reduce the amount of grinding and or polishing that would have to be done. The grinding and polishing was our first and only idea before Justin thought of the shim.

The shim is a peice of 1mm receiver cut into a rectangle and shimmed between the rear sight block and front trunnion. The shim was then ground down in the middle to provide clearance for the bolt carrier.
Big thumbs up to Roccobro for hanging in to midnight helping me with this problem.
