    Gunsmith Screwdriver Set Recommendation?

    I'm going to buy a good quality screwdriver set for working on firearms. I want the type with interchangeable bits and I want a fairly complete bit set with it.

    I don't want junk; I want some quality stuff. Any recommendations here? I've heard the Brownells house branded set is good but never put my hands on them. What about Wheeler Engineering? Any other brands I should look at?

      I have the Brownells set, the smallest one they sell. I like it a lot. They offer tips to fit every slot width you might come across. I ordered it with the LE handle. It's shorter than your typical 4-6" screwdriver. Overall a good set. Wheeler Engineering, I believe, is Midway's house brand, and I'd bet they're good too.

                  I have had the Brownells set (Master I think) for over 20 years. Good stuff, and the replacement (yes, you will break a few) bits are cheap.
                  I took the whole set, and whenever I get new bits, and I chuck them in the lead pot for an hour or so to knock back the brittle temper of them as they come from Brownells. Hold them at 550 to 650 for a while and they dont break so easy.

                      I have a Snap-On magnetic ratcheting screwdriver set. I use it for everything.

                          I have a Chapman screwdriver kit in the red snap shut box. It doesn't come with the hex drivers. The red box doesn't have a snap to keep it closed, so it has a tendency to open and your bits fall all over the place.

                              FYI, wheeler engineering I believe are made in China, I searched for a review on line of their product and decided on Magna-tip instead.
                              Screw the environment! The sooner we trash this place the sooner we will have the political will to explore space and conquer the known universe, spreading like locust we will plunder, crush new enemies, take their women and if we are lucky, we shall meet our fate on the battlefield.
