    oc area gunsmith

i am looking for a gunsmith to true/rebarrel a remington 700 of mine and thread another one. ive found a few shops out of the state but i would rather keep it local. so if anyone has a good smith that is local to the area it would be amazing.

Just stay away from bolsa, thats the only advice I can give about local smiths. I ship all my work out of state. Can find some seriously skilled smiths for better prices.

usually with everything else i would have the same mentality and i try to give this state as little of my money as i can. but if there are good gunsmiths in the general area that they are willing to put up with all the bs anti-gun laws that are here, something in me want to help support them. now if the price/quality of the work is sub par compared to the out of state guys, than that's a different story.

Are you using the new copper bullets. I have found some of the new bullets today are under size. Try a few other types be for buying a new barrel.

well originally i had planned to put this barrel on my 308, but now that i picked up a remingon 700 sps in 300wm for next to nothing, my build plans have changed. so im just going to cut the 308 barrel down to 20 or 22. and that sporter barrel that is on it has to go so this barrel is going on. besides i really dont need the m24 contour barrel on the 308 as i feel the varmint is sufficient for the time being

as for which part of the state i am in, south orange county.
