    Socal 1911 work?

Hey guys. I live in Orange County. I was wondering where/who to take this thing to get some work done. I don't know what I really need done to it. I honestly have no idea what to look for. I want a set of eyes to give it a once over, make sure everything looks proper and make it reliable. Every once in a while when shooting reloads (not mine) it would jam, maybe 1 out of 50. IIRC the spent shell gets caught in the ejection port. WW goes through just fine. I haven't shot it in a while. I guess my list is

A: make sure everything is good and its reliable.
B: get rid of the hideous black plastic/aluminum trigger and get the trigger cleaned up?
C: change the sights to something better.

I'm not a robber baron, rail road tycoon, dictator of a Caribbean island so I'm on a budget. As you probably guessed, I don't do competitive shooting, carry it, or hunt terrorists with it. I would just want leave it with someone I can trust. I am not opposed to shipping my gun, but would rather not deal with it if there is someone local. I can be separated from it for months, no problem. I figure I'm going to spend around $4-$500.

I also do not know what the gun is worth (Anyone? Bueller?) but don't want to do anything to make it less valuable, or could affect its future collectability. I have been told to sell it and use the money, and what I would spend to buy something nicer, but don't want to do since it was the first handgun I ever bought. I joke with my wife that its going in the coffin with me

Oh yeah, I'm open to any and all suggestions. Thanks guys!

Jim Hoag as stated above, or Alan Tanaka.

      There's also Will O'hara too.

Check with Dave's Metal Works in Covina,626-859-0299. Excellent gunsmith and a great guy to do business with.Like all good gunsmiths, he's very busy.He stopped taking in new work for a while, I don't know if he's back to accepting new jobs.
Here's a Commander he built for me. Your pistol will be in good hands.
