    Parko Solution

Does anyone know of local Ventura/LA county vendors that sell parkerizing solution? It seems like the only place to find it is online, I'd rather pick it up and pay cash.

I'm pretty sure no one carries it. Online orders only. Sucks...

I must have called 15 metal companies today... metal finishing, metal coating, metal anodizing, metal this metal that - you know what I've found? Not a single damned one of them even knows what parkerizing is.

Yeah... unfortunately I screwed up and need the parko before Saturday - I won't get it in time if I order online. That's me... everything at the last minute

How nice of a finish do you need? You can home brew park solution, but it does come out a little thin, and it takes a while to park, almost 45 min.

I always have solutions in my alchemy cave.
What do you need? Zinc or Manganese phosphate?

I was looking at homebrew solutions and figured I'd end up blowing myself up in the process - but that might work though thanks man.

Home brew has no risk of explosion, at worst you can burn yourself

Phosphoric acid, found in concrete etch and cleaner. (Klean Kutter has no additional additives at 40%)

                  Steel wool (degreased)

Manganese dioxide or zinc depending on which route you are going. (should be able to find it locally, some even in your pocket)

All should be available locally at a decent hardware store (ACE carries Klean Kutter)

If that does not sound scary PM me for recipe.

Depending on metal it can take a few minutes longer than commercially prepared stuff.
