38 Super's aren't that common. Why would you buy one just to convert it to 9mm?
Actually I only started collecting Milsurps 3 years ago. I think I might own about 24...They're cheaper than guns that will most likely never get the opportunity to kill somebody...

I belong to the group that uses firearms, and knows which bathroom to use.

Tis better to have Trolled & lost, Than to never have Trolled, at all.

If you're lucky, the 9mm barrel may drop in and function just fine. Is the .38 Super barrel ramped? If so, hopefully your 9mm barrel has the same ramp configuration. An unramped 9mm barrel won't work.

I don't think you'll need to change the extractor. You may need to adjust the tension on the extractor to make sure the 9mm round slides under the extractor and stays in place against the breech face.

Can't really help you with the sights.

        2) the sights are crappy and i want to swap for some fiber optics

        Is this done easy?
People say dawsonpercision has sights but I dont know which ones to get, can anyone link me to any? I want to spend around $75-100 total for front and rear.

if you really wanted to buy a nice RIA in 9mm it may be the only way to go, i don't think any 9mm RIA's are on the safe-list.

you can order a 9mm barrel from RIA and it should drop in and function perfectly and will not be expencive, but you may want to talk to CS first. RIA has great customer service FYI love my RIA 1911 and wish i could get more.
