    What's wrong with my ar

So I took out my ar out to the range today. As soon as I fired the first round I notice a weird pulling motion from the upper.I don't know much about ar's so it's hard to say were it's actually coming from, it just seems like some were from the handguard seems like it's going to fall apart, please help me ease my mine, anybody around Ventura county that knows about ar's want to look at it, please pm me.

    Thanx

The barrel nut cannot rotate because the gas tube secures it in place. If the barrel nut was rotating then he wouldn't be getting any gas, that doesn't sound like the problem. It sounds like a handguard issue.

OP did you build the rifle yourself? What handguard make is it? If the handguards have any screws on them they should be loctite'd and tightened down.

If the barrel nut wasn't turned tight enough prior to inserting the gas tube that most definitely could be it. Or maybe the bas block isn't torqued down and slid forward. I would recommend taking it to a gunsmith or someone who builds AR's and have them check it out. if you are in san Diego give me a pm and I would be more than happy to check it out for you.

          Thanx guys

I got the ar built already. I don't think is the handguard, it just feels like it's in the barrel around that area of were the handguard and the lower are attached,
