Bore cleaner question...

What's the best and/or recommended aerosol bore cleaner for my rifles and pistols ?

The thing is probably your question has three anwsers.

What type of fowling are you trying to clean. one spray will not clean every situation.

pistols and rifles both use the same spray for the same cleaning aplaction.

start with the type of ammunition you shoot and you get your answer.

modern cartidges - copper jacketed - wadd cutter - hot loads

corrosive surplus ammo - old lead bullets

black powder. How often you shoot or clean your guns.

But ASSUME-ing modern jacketed ammunition - non corrosive - = spray cleanor that cleanz copper and brass jacket fowlling. I am sure the REMINGTON brand should work well.

Bore cleaner

Use Ed's Red cleaner which you can mix at home and save big $$$
Shoot often, run a patch through at the range while the barrel is hot.
Clean often--clean often, and then clean ofter.
Ed's Red will remove most builup.

I have 3 receipes for ED"s red for different aplications.

Classic ED's REDD for DA Best penitrating oil.

1 part Tranny Fluid

1 part Aetone

My penitration oil EDDD's REDDD

1 part Tranny Fluid

1 part Aetone

1/2 part Lanolin Oil

Edd's Redd bore cleaning

1 part Tranny Fluid

1 part Aetone - substatute this for mineral spirits.

Some of these are flamable in confined spaces or pilot lights for water heaters - explosive fumes.

Like the sound of this stuff - BUTT - I would use a plastic brush - schprtz wait the 5 to 10 minutes - plastic brush - schhhprtiz - wait & brush - use patches and last oil.
