I made my own IWB CZ-75 SP-01 Holster

So, last night I was bored....happens often, so I went out into the garage and uncovered my grandpa's old leather working tools and stuff in a box. I opened it up and said to myself.....hey I can make something out of this and I set to work. I only had 3 scraps of thick leather which I didn't see how I could make fit into a holster, but after looking at a bunch of holsters online and moving the scraps around I was able to find something that worked. I cut the shapes out with my pocket knife and drilled holes in it for the stitching. At first I used some rawhide strips I had, but those were junk. After a bit more scrounging around I found some waxed linen thread which worked perfect. I also had a belt clip from an old ballistic nylon holster I have so I used that.

Here it is before wet forming the pistol

I wet formed it over night and then this morning I trimmed it a bit more and coated it with beeswax and mink oil. The finish isnt great but I like the look of it. I added some supplemental stitching after wet forming it because it seemed to have stretched and now it has more retention. It feels super good while carrying, I have been wearing it all day and hardly notice it .

My next project is to make a nice belt holster for her and also some mag pouches. But I need to find me some nice leather.....which as of yet I have not found. There dosent seem to be any tanneries here in Sonoma County .
