What finish exists on it now? Knowing how it is currently finished will determine how you refinish it.

I've never tried it before. From what I've read its not too hard.

Contact Tom Reese of FirePower Depot. He does Duracoat refinishing. He'll be at Riverside Magnum Range tomorrow. He's filling in while the manager is on Medical leave. Check this thread: http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...d.php?t=445852

Contact Todd @ Phantom Finishing, he'll cerakote it for you.
He's in Concord, so still within the Bay Area.

He does rifle coatings for Marc of Spartan Rifles, which is where I had mine built.

You can easily Duracoat yourself. Decent airbrush and compressor makes the difference. Look sliek the frame is parkerized, you can Duracoat directly over it. Teh slide looks blued, so wyou would need to blast with media or sand appropriately. If you are not confident though, just have a pro do it.

I did this 1911 frame in OD Duracoat and it has held up very well. Picture below is after about 1.5 years of USPSA usage (2 matches a month).

Bead blasting it would leave a matte metal/silver finish.

Wet 1000 grit sandpaper when you
finish taking all the original finish
down to bare metal to the polishing
wheel and compound I used some mag wheel
                          Polish.

With tons of effort you can polish it to a mirror finish. Then it will promptly rust....
