First try at engraving, anything missing?

Well, this is my first attempt at engraving. Am I missing anything important?

Life is like having a map with precise directions and exact stops, you find out that your directions and stops change as you progress further down your original map.

Well, the officer would probably assume it's a home build...Maybe practice on some aluminum scrap.

Also try the letter punches from harbor frieght. They work well and are cheap. My first one looks like my kid did it because I was in a rush for a build party including the mispelling. Clamp a straight-edge to the reciever as a guide and try to find stamps where the bottom of the letter lines up with one of the flat sides of the hexagon for easier positioning.

Things required per BATF on a receiver (doesn't really matter for a home build but important if you ever want to sell it).

Name of the maker (seems to be missing on your 'etching')
City, and state of manufacture (covered)
Unique serial number (I believe that's what you have at the bottom)
                    Caliber (covered with 'Multi')
                    A model designation is optional.
Worthy of note is the depth of the engraving needs to be a minimum of .03" deep per BATF (looks like you more than have that covered).EDIT: depth should be .003". Thanks Alex$ for the correction

                    Friendly suggestion:
Look at VaderSpades tutorials on electro etching of an AR receiver here on calguns>>>
                    Start on post 13
IMHO a MUCH better option than going at it with a dremel or even punches.

Name of maker is covered with the unique serial number. (iii) Your name (or recognized abbreviation) The rifle is going to be a Huggy Bear 01. (where Huggy Bear = abbreviated name of maker)

                      The minimum depth is .003".

The letter/number stamp set is $6 at HF. Or just rock that! Looks freaking Mad Max.

Fair enough (I guess) on the name thing although i didn't know that HB was the recognized abbreviation for Huggy Bear.
Could be 'Humid Buttcrack' for all I know.

Every receiver I have ever seen has the actual name of the builder or company on it. Not just two initials.

                              Just saying.

I stand corrected on depth (my bad I forgot a '0').
