2) 2LB hammer
3) 3LB hammer
4) 2X4 or anything solid that you can beat your gun with
5) 4 1/2" angle grinder
6) rocks

I bet you have at least 2 of those laying around.

has anyone ever had the top rail near the rear where the cut out for the bolt carrier to drop in flare up a little on the corner? whoa run on sentence mania

Not since the days of non-stepped and trimmed rails.

Even then it was mostly the result of poor top rail bending on the old style jig and nothing to do with carrier contact.

I see layout fluid and test firing in your future.

They make it too easy now, less blood, less sweat, less swearing, and everyone is a seasoned accomplished builder at the end of their first flat. I had one dude tell me he could go from parts kit to finished product in 1 hour. 3 hours later he says he's done and holds up a receiver with trunnions riveted. This was an NDS also, took 3 more weeks to get a finished gun.
