$250 isn't horrible if you can get the barrel for a decent price. I've seen Yugo RPK barrels pop up on GunBroker for around $60.

The Yugo barrels are hit & miss... Most are generally shot out...

As far as parts kits are concerned, yes these are very rare. I only remember three RPK kits for sale since October 2010. My RPK kit was one of these three.

Thanks for posting this. Every build party when somebody is working on one I go into my standard snivel about how I can't believe that with all the kits I've been through I still don't have an RPK.

I thought about buying as many as I could but then I decided to be reasonable and leave some for others. I need to buy some new hearing aids pretty soon also. But then again most people don't say much I really need to hear anyway.So anyway toes, I only bought two of them. You think I should go with the Green Mountain barrels?
