Did someone throw up on it? Why do you need to clean it?

There is a reloading section here on calguns. In the future you should ask ammo related questions there.

To answer your question. Yes you can tumble it will no ill effects. However, unless it has heavy corrosion it really isn't necessary. It will shoot just fine even if it is a little dingy.

Thank you tujungtoes, I wasn't sure where to post it , because if the rd. gets stuck i would be posting it on this section anyway. Ya it's just gunk from the storage cotainer , I was using it yesterday and i had one stuck so i stoped using it right away. Went the rest of the time with the PMC no issue.

If this is LOADED AMMO,,, DO NOT TUMBLE IT !!!

if you tumble loaded ammo you can break the gun powder into fine grains = over preasure

Shut it already, it is perfectly safe to tumble loaded rounds. What's next, it is not safe to deprime an live primer? Put your away and have a nice day.

Steel cases can be tumbled too, but if you are happy spraying and wiping all those cases by hand I say have a nice evening doing so

Tumbling loaded ammo is just fine. Trust me, If it posed even the most remote safety hazard it wouldn't be done by DAMN NEAR EVERY AMMUNITION MANUFACTURER ON EARTH.

So it's OK to load it back into the tumbler? I would rather turn on wake up in the morning and looking at a nice clean ammo, thank you again guys.
I was at the range and didn't have a cleaning rod with me , good thing guy out there had one and helped me get the stuck case out.

So my tongue-in-cheek answer was because I didn't have a frame of reference.

Most surplus ammo I see isn't corroded, and if it is it still fits into surplus Warsaw Pact firearms with not trouble. True, you may have the odd one you have to spit on to get it chamber, but who cares. (just kidding on the last)

                            surplus ammo

under NO sercumstance use WD-40 or any other penetrating oil/cleaner on any thing you want to go boom. that is not good unless you will shoot it right away.
