depends on what you ultimate goal is and what level of accuracy you are going to be satified with. -
Slide/frame tightening/fitting is usually a portion of a more comprehensive accuracy job. It takes a great degree of skill and experience, and a fair amount of time. Do you have a quote from someone? What do you expect to pay for it?Comment

I have seen extremely accurate 1911s that had loose slide to frame fitting and have been told by some serious 1911 shooters that slide to frame fit is not important to them. Doesn't sound too far off.
It's a BUNCH of work to do it properly, and a significant outlay of cash for the tooling.
Beware of a too-cheap price. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
Bigbob76's comment about barrel fitting is right on. Slide/frame tightness is a small piece of the overall accuracy "pie", if thats what you are after. If yours is a rattletrap and you want it tightened, thats another story, but the work for the smith is still the same.Comment
