    Mosin barrel thread question

    I am getting ready to change a barrel on a Mosin. Do Mosins have standard barrel threads? That is, righty tighty and lefty loosie?

      Thanks, this barrel is on TIGHT! Tighter than any Mauser I have done. Soaking it now in Kroil. Tried heating it, and beating it.

        Look at the bottom, forward of the recoil lug. Does it have a hole there? There's supposed to be a hole there to lube the threads for removal, but not all of them have it.

          No hole forward of the recoil lug. However, when I heated it, oil came bubbing out of the screw hole in the recoil lug.
