    Fix it or forget it?

So I chopped the donkey chode off of my romanian ak and refinished the furniture, and when I went to reinstall the upper handguard I guess I got a little overzealous. At first I was pissed at myself, but I'm kind of thinking it adds a touch of "afghanistanification" to my rifle. Or maybe I'm just being lazy and don't want to deal with it now. What say you?

              Hide glue.
Having done woodworking in addition to working metal, plastics, and rubber I can tell you that hot hide glue will make a stronger bond than the wood grain itself.
It would be rather easy to repair that to a point you'd never know it was cracked/ split using that.

I did the same thing to my upper handguard on my Romy G. I put it back together with wood glue (put a light coat on both edges, wait until it gets to a semi-clear state, and clamp overnight) and now I can barely notice where it cracked.

I personally like the battlefield pickup/beat up look, so I think it'll look fine if you don't repair it, but with every other piece of furniture finished nicely, I think your rifle would look more cohesive if you did.

Gavin Newsom is a lying, cheating slickster and will be is the worst mistake California has ever made if he gets now that he has been elected Governor. Hollywood movie producers look to him and his oleaginous persona as a model for the corrupt "bad guy" politician character. This guy is so greasy, he could lubricate an entire arsenal of AR-15s just by breathing on them.

Taint? I thought the area between was the gooch?! I do like the looks of that pirate AK . . . I gotta sleep on this. Keep it looking nice and finished, or rugged and brutal. Maybe I'll wait and decide after the build party and do both

'T'ain't here and 't'ain' there >.> But yes, I also called it "Chode" until I moved to California.

But the Romy foregrip is called neither of these. >.>

Chode is the unit, Taint is the region adjacent. I've never lived in a region where people drank "pop" or from the "bubbler" so YMMV

Actually I only started collecting Milsurps 3 years ago. I think I might own about 24...They're cheaper than guns that will most likely never get the opportunity to kill somebody...
