Tech Shop - anyone a member?

Is anyone a member of Tech Shop? Could I join, take the classes, and eventually use the machines to work on an 80% paperweight? I'm hoping to learn CNC programing and maybe use that knowledge and experience to parley it into some work experience.

I wanted to ask here first before calling them and posing that question. I figure that as long as it's legal to do, it should be okay. I might fabricated a few gun parts that I can't find for old obsolete guns/rifles. Any legal issues about doing that?

I would say your best bet is to call and get a definitive answer. Ask to talk to a manager, or whatever they have there. Just because people do it doesn't necessarily mean they want you to.

I say sign up and do it. If you get the knowledge you need you can always make the parts elsewhere should the management complain.
