    AK Spring Problem

I was cleaning my AK parts and when I got to the spring I decided to pull the spring and then a piece of metal shot of the end of it. Now I'm not really familiar with the AK spring so if anyone could tell me how to put the spring back or what is wrong it would be helpful. The piece in the middle is the part that shot off.

It's really pretty easy if you have 3 hands and a couple extra fingers. Compress the spring on the guide rod and then re install the "spring retainer" or whatchamacallitdohickythingamcbob.

use one hand to compress the spring while using something like a screwdriver to keep that second wire thing above the end of the spring. take that piece that fell off, and spread the wire apart and get the hooks into the holes on the piece that fell off, let the spring go and voila. It definitely helps to have somebody else to keep the wire up and get that round piece hooked in.

Put the latch in your belly, almost looks like your pulling a rope into your body. Compress the spring until it clears the point where the 2 parts kinda loop together. Slide the part of the guide over so it looks like a T. Then install the retainer and slide the spring forward until it locks in the retainer/keeper/thingamajigdoohicky.

Alright I'm going to try right now. I'm going to bleed and cry and get a burrito to celebrate.

Grandmas are the greatest! I miss mine. Anyway, now go do something for her. Maybe, take her out for a late night snack (it's after 4:30 so, I'm sure she already ate dinner).
