    Canted Barrel

Just finished demilling my ak parts kit, except for removing the barrel and the 4 rivits that need to be removed afterwards (no press). Well the front trunion is off in relation to the front sight like its twisted when the barrel was pressed in. Will I need anything out of the norm to remedy this at the BP? This is an original barrel if it matters. When the front site is at a 90 degrees, the rear corner of the front trunion is up about 1 mm.

Another pic. The gas-port tube is in line with the front site. In this pic. the front trunion is flat.

My sights are messed up too on my saiga .308. On mine the whole wight seems to be to theleft. Looks like I need to pop pins out and readjust. Ever fix yours?

Not yet. I will have to remove the barrel when I do my build. So I'm going to do it then. I am trying to find out if I will have to drill out and use larger barrel pins or if filing the slots in the barrel and using the original ones will work.

It would be easier to move the accessories instead of rotating the barrel at the trunion.

Thanks. Thought it would be easier just dealing w/ 1 but when you refer them as accesories its makes sense.

I would build it and shoot it first. I've had a couple people ask me to "fix" a canted sight without ever shooting their gun. Ok so what if the"fix" has it shooting 2 feet to the left, is it really fixed or now just a real zeroing problem? I would aways shoot the thing first before messing with it.

The front sight is kicked to the left and the rear sight kicks to the right. At the bottom of the sight, the left side is not perfectly square as the other side either. And when the sight gets flipped up it gets worse. So we'll see.
