I saw a post some where on calguns asking for a gunsmith in the San Fran BA/ san jose to convert a single stack ak to double stack. Now I can't find it. Does anyone know the thread or a gunsmith that can do the job?

I just did it for a buddy on an Egyptian.
All you need is a template of the mag hole opening, and a grinder of some sort to cut down the lower/inner mag stabilizing rails. Killed a spare endmill as the inner rails were heat treated throughout. Tiny belt sander did a number on them though!

I figured, but mine is extremely dull after years of automotive porting jobs.
Silicon carbide mini belt sander took a few minutes.
