    Barrel Threading: Galil

I have a Galil that currently has a Raddlock 2" extension along with a standard flash hider but I want swap it out with a extended AR flash hider. Problem, Gailil with a 13x1 RH and AR with 1/2-28 thread.

Would you tap the flash hider or run a die to recut the barrel thread? I'm leaning towards recutting the barrel but the barrel seems to be pita to remove so I may need to run the die by hand rather than chuking the barrel in the lathe.

Anyone have a spare 1/2-28 die you want to sell or lend out for a nominal fee? Or know of anyone who can work on it in O.C. area??
    Thanks

You can do threading on lathe.
This looks like 13 mm x 1 mm thread on the Gailil. If this is the two sizes are so close. Gailil is 0.511" OD x 25.4 tpi and the AR 0.500 OD x 28 TPI. The best way is to buy a flah hider the right size.

Would be nice to find the right flash hider for the Galil but I didn't find one I liked/need plus I already have few spare AR flash hiders..

The Raddlock extension should already have a 1/2"x28 thread on the tip end if I'm not mistaken.

You can if you barrel is over 17". You would cut off the old threads and turn and thread with the standor 1/2" x 28 TPI threads. Cost is around $80.00
