AK Rear Sight spring

The flat spring on my Romanian AK kit is broken.
What is the technique of replacing it?
Does it fit into a groove for retention?

It's easy to replace. All you need is a small punch and medium size hammer. Just fit it in the groove, place the punch on the small indentation on the top of teh flat spring at an angle, and tap it a few times till it's all the way in. Sometimes you have to tap harder than others.

Broken? Missing or f***ed up sure but broken? How does that happen?
I don't want to be a d**k but could it be up side down maybe?

AK Rear Sight Spring

The rear sight spring was broken, into two pieces. It was not upside down.
I did manage to remove the rear broken section that was stuck in the RSB groove for the spring.
After cleaning our 25 years of crud and rust I have been able to replace the spring (rightside up) with a new spring.
