Flash Hider not lining up.

Am I doing something wrong here?

Each time I put on a muzzle device, the ports are not ending up in the desired location. My only solution is using 2 crush washers.

Suggestions?

use one crush washer and crush them until indexed....it shouldn't be more than a 180 degree turn to correct it in my experience. If it is...you might be better off using peel washers. To crush the washer, make sure your receiver and barrel are properly secured and tighten and then loosen the FH until you get to the desired timing. each time you tighten it should go a little closer to your desired timing.

Spacer washers are available in different thicknesses that correlate to 1/4 turn increments and are designed to allow your muzzle brake or flash hider to be centered correctly. These are available from any online source. I know Surefire makes them and includes them with their muzzle brakes. They are used in conjunction with the crush washer.

I'll check out the space washers. There is no way I'll be able to rotate that the 270deg needed.

How far have you turned it so far? Doesn't look like you put a dent in it. What are you using to secure the upper in place?

The harder you pull on the wrench, the easier it turns into position.

I have an upper vice. I am sure it is secure, but still.
