Adjusting Trigger on Ruger Super Blackhawk

I bought a Ruger Super Blackhawk in .44 Mag from a calgunner and it has a trigger pull that breaks between .5 - 1 lb. This makes the gun a bit too exciting to enjoy since even touching the trigger sends lead down range. I want to tighten up the trigger but I want to do it myself, has anyone else attempted this or have experience they could offer some advice?

I bought a "trigger kit for my Blackhawk some years ago. It had two springs in it and when I traded both springs the weight was very light...scary light. I spit the springs one in the BH the other in a Vaquaro and that worked nicely probably about 3 #. So you might go to Brownells or Ruger and get the factory springs. I wish I could remember what springs they were. I'd have to open it up to check. The factory springs should be around here somewhere. That doesn't mean I can find them...

What do you know I did find the springs... you can have them if you want them.

I found out the first thing to do is pull off the grips and make sure one of the spring ends is not moved off the pin.

Bought a Super Blackhawk from my cousin and found out he did an "Okie" trigger job on it.

I don't think one spring would make it that light but it is easy to check and might save some time.

It's not unusual for folks to let one of the trigger return springs off of the pin for a lighter pull.
