    Which AK kit to build?

-AMD65, original barrel, all numbers match.

-Romy G, paper in barrel, all numbers match, even on wooden lower hand guard

Which one would you build and why?

Depends on what you already have. The Romy G is obviously in fantastic shape. What about the condition of the AMD 65 barrel/ etc?

You are a addict now Rob, you know you want both

It depends on what AK you don't have already. I have a soft spot for the AMD since it's a folding stock but you have to weld an extended brake to it and fix the stock depending on how long the brake is.

If the price is right, I would pick up both.

I looked at the kits again. Changed mind after doing the bullet test, going to still build both. I have a different issue to solve that merits the off topic section of the forum.

Bullet test? If they both have chrome lined bores there shouldn't be any erosion should there?

Yep. If it was me I would build the AMD. Something cool about those ugly Hungarian AKs.

(They are loud, and annoying at the range too. Something fun about shooting one because of that )

You could put the front of the romy on an amd receiver with the amd folder locked open. Then put the amd lower handguard, gas tube and pistol grips on and put the original amd muzzle brake on the end of the romy barrel.

Bip Bam Boom you have an amd with a 16" barrel.

Now take what is left, cut the barrel to 9" and make a pistol.
