Glock 17 mags

I have really old mags that are preban and the casing on them are cracking, longways down the back, right between the numbered holes, not sure they would actually operate, these are not the ones with removable base plates, how can I repair those?

I doubt Glock will do it.
Just buy mag kits and replace them.

If the plastic is gouged and not cracked all the way that you can see the metal. I would dremel and flatten & smoothen the gouge.
If you have non- drop u shaped older mags then I would just buy the kit.

Replace no longer useable mags with new rebuilds, 1 for 1 exchange. Cut old mags in half or otherwise render completely useless and keep them as souveniers.

On the older mags, those plastic ears (bumps) keep breaking off if I remove the base plate for servicing (Cleaning) the interior or replacing a weak spring/follower.. etc

Rebuilt kits solve this problem.

As far as I know, ALL Glock mags come apart. I have several of the gen 1 mags which are the same as the Austrian service mags as far as I know, and those base plates come off as well but they don't have the locking tab like later generations. Also, most people have trouble with Glock magazines due to the swell that the plastic has. Trust me, they come apart. If they don't, please send me pictures because I'd LOVE to see some Glock oddities.

And no one will ask you to prove anything. It is not illegal to possess Hi Capacity Mags. It is not illegal to own Hi Capacity Mags.

Just curious, but did you figure out if they were regular mags or if they were some random odd ball? I'd be interested in buying the parts, even if broken, if they are odd balls.
