There was a reason the kit was $200 for all matching.

You can always pick up a virgin Romy Barrel for $110 at Apex Gun Parts or a new Green Mountain Barrel that is chrome lined for $125.

Yea, like how deep is the hole? remember the barrel pin groove gets pretty close to the chamber. Also, you should see how the rear site holes are drilled right up to the chamber on my TC 45/70 contender.

          Lets see a picture.

I personally have 2 rifles that I built where somebody drilled into the barrel under the front trunnion. Typical of a newbie.
As oldyeller said, consider how deep the barrel pin goes, also, consider how deep an OVERsized barrel pin goes! I have no concerns with mine, and they see plenty use.

Per Oldyeller's comment, and for reference.

yea but keep in these cut outs are filled by pins essentially making them whole again....and the places that have been accidentally drilled into are not being filled unless you weld them up...if its not too deep it should be fine.

You could fill a drilled hole also with a pin, and file/ emery cloth it back to the barrel chamber (I would do it this way even over welding because welding on a barrel chamber I don't believe is a good idea due to changing the metal's properties potentially causing a crack when pressure is applied to it regardless of if it's supported by a pin or not).

Does your camera have macro? (little flower) hard to tell from those pics but if your saying the hole is 4.8 mm deep I would not use that barrel...
