    Ak-Builder flat double-hook trigger mod

To modify an AK-builder flat to accept double hook triggers, is the 2nd hole made the same size?

Bonus: Why hasn't Curtis made double hook receivers yet?

Because the original AKM receivers were single hook. The double hook FCG was a Tapco development for a problem that really doesn't exist. That is why only Tapco flats are cut for a double hook FCG.

Yes, just cut the receiver hole for the 2nd hook, identical to the original hole, so it looks symmetrical.

Dremel w/ a cutoff wheel works great. (It you have one) Use a small rat tail file to clean it up, and get a smooth radius. If not, no biggie.

I have a hard time believing that the cutout for a double hook FCG was a Tapco development since milled M-70,M-64,and M-72 receivers are cut to accept a double hook.

Spot on for the modification recommendation though.

The original AKs were milled and followed the same thing, a double hook trigger. Then they redesigned things stamped receiver, single hook trigger etc..

Also the chinese aks use double hook trigger I believe. Mach or someone else will come along and clear up my vague history of the AK.
