Barrel threading for flash hider question

I have a question. Can a gunsmith machine and add threads to the end of a bull barrel so it can accept a standard .308 flash hider? Is this a common practice or am i crazy? Below is a link of the 308 upper that i want, but it would be nice to have a compensator or flash hider. If so is there anyone you recomend near the san jose area? Thanks for your time. Oh and just ballpark what would a gunsmith charge to do something like that? Thanks again.

oh and are there specific flash hiders for bull barrel? It seems like it would look silly for a regular flash hider thats made for a regular diameter barrel to be on a bull barrel. It wouldn't line up together and be flush.

I just got my bull barrel threaded for a compensator specifically manufactured for bull barrels. Its on my AR in 223 but I wanted to make something with as little recoil as possible for my wife to shoot varmint with. I got the comp from a member here on the board who had Mike Peak @ PeakTactical.com make it.
