Keep in mind that they have the "3rd Hole". It will need to be welded up before you even try to create a receiver with one.

Not gonna be that easy. Those are heat treated and generally will crack if bent back the other way. Now if you needed a pattern to lay out a new receiver.........

I saw those too, that is interesting. They seem pretty useless to me unless like SJ said, you need a pattern. Anyone else see a use for these?

I know a guy with a heat treating setup.... could anneal that metal easily... doubt it would ever be 'right' again though..

I could have a lot of fun practicing my sheetmetal beating on one of those...

Even if you softend that up some it'll never be right and I wouldn't trust it. Now get some .040 4130 sheet metal and try playing with that.

I'm having trouble seeing the value in one. Even for a template. For $5 more you can get a flat with all the holes present already as well. Unmangled.

Maybe a coffee table conversation starter. About Federal MG laws?

Flats don't have all the holes. If somebody is willing to pay for those then I say that being a good businessman.

And you have the option of using the one trigger pin hole before or after folding. It's like a template, but you get to shoot with it!

Interesting thread on these over at weaponsguild also.
My thought on these is "sometimes a cool paperweight will never be more than a cool paperweight".
I'm with SJGG on trying to straighten out bent heat treated metal (even if annealed first). I believe it's not worth the hassle to try to build with when a brand new AK-builder flat isn't that much more expensive.

Now if you want a cool paperweight......................................
