Don't have a MIAD, but if the original screw fits, use it. Don't do what the last guy do, and strip the thread and end up smashing your lower with a crescent wrench and then throw it in your pond.

It seems Magpul enjoys going overboard with the Loctite. I had a hell of a time installing my MIADs too because all of the Loctite. I just scraped most of it off when I installed mine. I didn't think of it at the time but cant you just heat up the loctite with a lighter too? I assume that it would loosen it up...?

Its a pain in the *** though. I always pictured the Loctite guy at the Magpul factory chained to his work station, laughing hysterically and maniacally globbing that stuff on screws.
      Dear California,
I love you. I was born and raised in you. You have given me some of the best times of my life. Now with that said, I can not wait to move!

It is very easy to cross thread those. If it is not going in easy then unscrew and evaluate. Hopefully its not too late.

I used the A2 screw... Worked just fine several thousand rounds later. Though, I am shooting rimfire.

alright thanks guys, ill probably just stick with the a2 screw, not worth stripping my calguns.net lower that i love!

I did do some googling and found on another forum that Magpul responded something along the lines of " Using the a2 screw may go too far into your lower receiver." I Looked down the screw hole and doesnt seem to have an opening into the lower....

At our shop we use the Hex screw we provide on our regular LPK. We toss the magpul screw.

You could try running a tap through the screw threads.

I think the reason Magpul says not to use the A2 screw, is that it ends up being too long.

Some lowers are not drilled/tapped all the way through into the fire control group pocket, which will cause the longer A2 screw to bottom out.

Use whatever works... if the A2 works, but is a little too long, just throw an extra washer on it. I usually use the A2 screw, as it is easier to install because it sticks on the end of an allen wrench. Makes it easier to feed it through the hole in the grip. Try to keep that shallow Magpul screw on the end of a flathead screwdriver... LOL... you'll see what I mean.

Hang on, are there 2 types of A2 screws? My A2 is screwed on using a flat head screwdriver...

Or, just grind a little off of it, run it through a die, and you're GTG without the washer. I did that just this week...
