80% polymer frame

Just wondering if anyone has ever tried to make a 80% frame for some thing like a glock?

Unlike a 1911 or an AK, Glocks are not in public domain.

I'm not totally sure, but isn't polymer a type of woven material in "plastic"? Cutting or milling would weaken it too much?

The Glock was just an example of something already out in Polymer. I did see a Colt upper receiver in polymer, with the barrel and other parts still metal.

I didn't do it, just found it on YouTube. Don't think I'd try it for a pistol, pistol frames take direct pressure from firing, slide forces against rails and so forth.

Very interesting. The only problem is when someone, who doesn't know what they are doing, does another wood lower or some other weak material, and doesn't take safety precautions and blows himself up. Then we'll see how much our hobby here gets into the spotlight.
